Newly formed club beats champions IBB Polonia in five sets
After an off-season fraught with protracted negotiations between London Docklands, one of the most historic clubs in the country, and Richmond Volleyball Club, a rising force in English Volleyball, the debut match of the newly formed Richmond Docklands ended in a dream scenario.
The simple fact that Super 8 volleyball was played on Saturday evening at Kingston College Arena was a significant achievement and testament to the vision and hard work of all involved at both London Docklands and Richmond Volleyball Club.
The young English beach volleyball pair from Richmond VB, London (Javier Bello and Joaquin Bello) is one step closer to completing their Olympic dream finishing 2nd at the u18 CEV Youth Beach Volleyball Continental Cup qualifier – Pool F, which ended on Sunday in Larnaca, Cyprus. They will now progress to the Continental Cup finals next year with 16 other European Countries and the top 5 countries will qualify to the 2018 Youth Olympic Games Beach Volleyball tournament in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Congratulations to Richmond U18s Girls who beat London Lynx 3-0 in their final group game to top their National Grand Prix Group B with three wins out of three. They then went on to beat Black Country 3-1 in the semi-final to set up a final with Beach Academy in May.
U18 Richmond VB girls also finish the NVL season in third place after a 3-1 loss to Sussex Dolphins. Congratulations to this team for their best ever placing. Looking forward to the Grand Prix final in May.
