What a thriller of a game our supporters witnessed last Sunday when Richmond NVL 2 Women traveled to Aschombe to face the contender for the playoff position!
Richmond team trained well during the week and worked diligently on a game plan so finding themselves 7-1 down was not quite expected.
Last weekend was a great one for our Junior section with both our girls and boys under 18 sides reaching the National Finals in April. They join our Under 16 girls who made it through earlier this month.
Leaving behind two consecutive defeats against leaders Oxford, Richmond team re-grouped and trained hard to be ready to face Reading Aces. Reading was one of the teams fighting for a promotion at the start of the season and although they noticeably slowed down after Christmas , that team still represented a danger for Richmond.
Richmond finally met the leader of Division 2 Oxford last Sunday. Oxford played one game more and was one point ahead of RVB. This fixture represented a great opportunity for RVB to state their credentials for a promotion. But it was Oxford that added valuable league points to their tally (3:0)
