London Youth Games – a Weekend of Fantastic Results for RVB Junior Players

Congratulations to all RVB Junior players, coaches and parents who took part, cheered and supported the teams in the London Youth Games volleyball event last weekend and achieved some fantastic results.

Richmond Volleyball coaches have prepared for the Games six boys & girls teams for 3 London Boroughs – Kingston (5th year), Hounslow (4th year) and Richmond (1st year). Through May, a selection of 25 RVB national junior players from various age groups joined forces with players from colleges and schools to prepare for the battle against some formidable opposition in the qualifying rounds.

RVB Among Top 5 Junior Clubs in England

In 2013-2014 season 43 junior clubs (including 8 Regional Academies and 1 National Academy) participated in the Volleyball England’s National Junior competitions.

RVB Junior Centre of Excellence has prepared 6 boys and girls teams to compete in all age categories in VE National Junior Cup & National Grand Prix .

In order to analyse the performance of the squads at the National level and measure up the RVB Junior Club against other high performing clubs in England, RVB applied a ranking system that took into account results for all clubs from all National competitions (u15, u16, u18 Junior Cup and Grand Prix) in the last 12 months. RVB would like to say a special thank you to all the junior players, coaches, team coordinators, parents, volunteers & community partners who has contributed to our junior club success over this past season, and we look forward to a possible expanded program for next season.

5th for RVB Boys & Girls at U15 National Finals

Both the boys and girls junior volleyball teams from Richmond Volleyball Centre of Excellence finished 5th at the Volleyball England u15 National Volleyball Finals, which took place at the National Volleyball Centre, Kettering on Saturday 10 May.

South London JR GP R4 Sat 17th May (Girls) & Sat 24th May (Boys)

The 4th and final series of the South London Junior Grand Prix (and to support preparations for the London Youth Games teams Richmond, Kingston and Hounslow) will be on:

• Girls: Saturday 17th May – 12 noon to 3pm (Tiffin Boys School)
• Boys: Saturday 24th May – 12 noon to 3pm (Tiffin Boys School)
