Review – RVB on the Beach

Our aim is to provide a wide range of beach volleyball activities reaching out to individuals of all ages, backgrounds and abilities in the training of skills and techniques of beach volleyball, foster teamwork, sportsmanship and an appreciation for health and wellness. In so doing we ran a full season programme (Winter and Summer) and the main program was in the Summer from April through to September delivering many events such as:

• Honda Series (2v2) part of VEBT Tour (3*) – 6 events
• Social Mixed Tournaments (4v4) – 3 events
• JR Rising Stars (2v2) part of VEBT Tour (1*) – 3 events
• School Tournaments – 4 events
• Holiday Camps – 4 events
• Corporate Events – 4 events
• Schools coaching – 20 sessions
• Junior Training – 48 sessions
• Adult Training – 60 sessions
• Saturday Open Sessions – 48 sessions

Our year round training, professional coaching, holistic athlete development, and a passionate beach programme have also made great strides to raise the competitive level of play for the community and England.

In terms of our national and international credentials we one of the leading national Junior beach volleyball development programme capturing numerous national championships medals and hosting many England juniors playing in CEV European and FIVB International events.

• Men’s Senior (1st Gold) –1st time in event history won by u17 boys

INTERNATIONAL
u18 Commonwealth Youth Games Championships, Bahamas:
Result: 1st ,GOLD (16 Countries)
England’s first ever gold medal at the u18 Commonwealth Youth Games Championships

u18 CEV European Youth Beach Volleyball Continental Cup qualifier, Cyprus
Result: 2nd, Silver (42 Countries)
England’s best ever result in this age group. Youth Beach Volleyball Continental Cup determine the teams representing Europe in the Beach Volleyball competition for next year’s Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

U18 CEV European Beach Volleyball European Championship, Russia
Result: 5th (32 Countries)
England’s best ever result in this age group. England seed #3 for U19 world champs as a result of the U18 European result (Russia won all three medals but only get one spot, then France and then England)

U20 CEV European Beach Volleyball European Championship, Italy
Result: 17th (32 Countries)
England’s best ever result in this age group. This age group is serious business with most of the athletes in the top countries already professionalized.
