ON THE COURT THIS WEEK

NVL 1st Teams
RVB league leaders conceded a 2-0 advantage at home & won 3-2 to beat Bristol City in NVL Men’s Div 2 South. Next Sunday they have Wessex at home – come and support! The women travelled away and lost 3-0 to Devon Storm in a NVL Div 2 South fixture.

NVL Youth Teams
RVB Women’s Youth team (average age 16 years old) beat Cardiff 3-2 coming back from 2 sets down. They then won against Ashcombe 3-1 after going down a set down in their away NVL Women’s Div 3 South triangular fixtures (5th in the league). Next Sunday they have Wessex at home – come and support!

On the Court update

NATIONAL LEAGUE 1st Teams
RVB Men battled back from 2-1 sets down to beat Dartford 3-2 and go 2nd in the National League Div 2 keeping pressure on leaders Solent (won 5 and lost 1). MVP went to Kevin Duseaux and top points scorer to Artur Smertyha. RVB Women lost 3-1 at home against Plymouth. MVP went to Hannah Robinson.

NATIONAL LEAGUE 2nd Teams (Youth)
Congrats to the RVB Men’s Youth team, staff & parents! Great win (3-0) over Essex Boswells Jrs in NVL Men’s Div 3 Fixture & go top in the league. Men’s Youth continued their impressive form winning 3-2 over University East London (scholarship players) in NVL Men’s Div 3 Fixture (won 6 & lost 2).

Super 8 London Lynx proved too much for RVB in NVL Cup

RVB NVL Men 1st team lost 3-0 away against London Lynx in the National Cup. They now travel to Essex in the NVL Shield on Sat 30th Nov

RVB under-18 Boys qualified to the quarter finals (last 8’s) and semi finals of the U18 National JR Cup and also qualified to U18 National Grand Prix Finals (top 8 junior teams) to be held in Jan and Feb 2015.

Richmond VB Men fighting stuns City of Bristol to win 3-2 thriller. It was certainly a game of two halves coming back from 2-0 sets down and 19-23 down in the 3rd set to stun Bristol in a 5 set victory taking RVB 2nd in the league (won 5 and lost 1) of the NVL Men’s Div 2 South table

J.Bello had a great setting debut for the team – RVB win 3-1 against Cardiff and go 4th in the league!

I was proud of how the team responded last Sunday wining 3-1 against Cardiff VC after a below-par display against Solent keeping the Antlers 4th (won 2, lost 1) in the Men’s National League Division 2 South table.
