3 Points in the Bag for Richmond NVL Div2 Women

Richmond storms to victory in their first bite of the Div 2 National league in Bristol. The team performed brilliantly and came away with a straight 3-0 win (25-15, 25-20, 26-24).

Some nervousness was evident at the beginning of the first set but after that the team implemented a well drilled game plan put in place by Head Coach Giorgio Scatigna “GSG” who said: “I am very proud of the team especially coming from 20-16 down in the third set to the well deserved victory”. The Richmond Volleyball Men and Boys indoor division officially closed a historic season of success on 20 May when our champion Surrey League team finished with a silver medal in a gruelling and extremely competitive South England Volleyball Association tournament.

Richmond Docklands end regular season with resounding win over old rivals

Richmond Docklands completed their regular season matches with an emphatic victory over old rivals Malory Eagles. Earlier in the season Malory had inflicted Richmond Docklands’ first defeat of the campaign in a one sided match in Kingston. But on this occasion it was Richmond Docklands who dominated proceedings.

Richmond Docklands succumb to second successive league defeat

After a thoroughly dispiriting home performance against long-time rivals London Malory, Docklands had a full three weeks to stew until their next on-court appearance against fellow newcomers to Super 8s action Essex Blaze.

Team Essex came into the game winless in five competitive outings, but Richmond Docklands were well aware of the young side’s ability augmented by their rigorous coaching and training regime.

The question for Essex seemed to be when, not if, they would get their first victory of the season and a ring-rusty Richmond Docklands walked straight into a punch that left the side nursing their second successive league defeat.
