Richmond Docklands announces coaching transition and plans for 2025–26

Richmond Volleyball Club announces that Marcel Sivak has stepped down from his role as Head Coach of Richmond Docklands after six remarkable years at the helm. During his time with the club, Marcel played an instrumental role in shaping our senior men’s programme – leading the team with integrity, technical excellence, and unwavering dedication.

Under his leadership, Richmond Docklands reached new heights, including a memorable National KO Cup victory, and multiple top-four finishes in the Men’s Super League. Marcel’s passion for the sport and his tireless commitment to his players have left a lasting legacy at the club. He departs with our sincere thanks and very best wishes for whatever comes next.
Richmond Volleyball Chair, Andy Hopper, said:
“Marcel has been a cornerstone of our senior men’s programme for many years, playing for Docklands and then coaching with distinction. The cup title in 2022 is an obvious highlight but Marcel has contributed much more during his time with us. We’re incredibly grateful for everything he’s done and wish him continued success in his next chapter.”
Looking ahead to the 2025–26 season, we enter a new phase with confidence and purpose. Change brings opportunity, and we are excited to build on the strong foundations already in place. The coming season will see continued investment in the Richmond senior men’s programme, with an emphasis on performance, development, and long-term sustainability.
We remain committed to nurturing an integrated and high-performance environment that reflects the values of excellence, community, collaboration and opportunity. More information on the new coaching appointments and squad plans for 2025–26 will be announced shortly.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support Richmond Docklands – players, coaches, volunteers, families, and fans. The next chapter promises to be just as exciting.
