Richmond Volleyball becomes a Charitable Incorporated Organisation
Richmond Volleyball is delighted to announce that it has recently been registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) by the Charity Commission, marking an important milestone in the club’s development and its ambitions for the future.
The new status provides Richmond Volleyball with a stronger governance structure and a solid foundation from which to continue developing opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to participate in volleyball.
As a CIO, the club plans to build on its strong community roots, expand its junior and community programmes, support the development of players and coaches, and make volleyball increasingly accessible to a wider range of people. Charitable status will also help the club develop new partnerships and funding opportunities, enabling it to invest in its players, coaches and volunteers, programmes and facilities and create a more sustainable future.
Club Chair Andy Hopper said:
“Becoming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation is a significant moment in our 34-year history. We are incredibly proud of what the club has achieved to date, but we also want to look forward and create an organisation that can continue to grow and make a positive difference through volleyball for many years to come. Our new CIO status gives us a stronger platform to do that.
“I’d like to thank our new Board of Trustees for the time, expertise and commitment they have given to helping us achieve this status. Their work has been instrumental in getting us to this point, and I’m excited about what we can achieve together.”
Registration as a CIO marks the beginning of the next chapter for Richmond Volleyball, with the club committed to using its new charitable status to strengthen the organisation, broaden participation and maximise the positive impact of volleyball for its members and across the wider community.
