Richmond Volleyball is delighted to be taking two boys’ teams to the Cornacchia World Cup in Pordenone, Italy, next Easter.

Cornacchia is one of Europe’s largest youth volleyball tournaments, bringing together teams from across the continent each year. It is a brilliant opportunity for players to experience international competition, travel and spend time together as a team.

We plan to enter:

• an U17 boys’ team
• an U19 boys’ team

Each team will play at least six matches over four days. The tournament format means that every team plays for a medal on the final day.

Trials

Trials will take place on the following dates:

Team	Eligibility	Trial date and time
U19	Players born on or after 1 January 2008	Sunday 18 October, 12:30–14:00
U17	Players born on or after 1 January 2010	Sunday 25 October, 9:00–10:30

Click here to book your space in the trials.

We expect to select squads of 12–13 players for each team and will let players know the outcome shortly after the relevant trial.

There is a £5 trial fee for current Richmond players and a £15 trial fee for non-Richmond players.

Costs and sponsorship

This is a significant trip and participating players and their families will be responsible for its costs. We will provide a clear payment plan to help families plan ahead.

Families are encouraged to help identify or approach potential sponsors. If enough sponsorship is secured, it could substantially reduce the cost for all players taking part.

Non-Richmond players who are selected will also be asked to pay an additional £100 contribution towards the cost of training sessions between November and March.

Further information about travel, accommodation, costs and the payment plan is available.

We are very excited to offer this opportunity and look forward to taking Richmond Volleyball to Pordenone in 2027.
