Pin-Lon Spikers & Kingston Red Lions end regular season on top
20th Feb 2013The top South London Volleyball teams from Mixed Division 1 & 2 Play-offs have now been revealed following the conclusion of regular league season matches held at Richmond College (Twickenham) betweebn October to April. Mixed Division 1 (Monday evenings - 7 teams) The league winner was Pin-Lon Spikers with 34pts (11 wins and 1 defeat). In second place was Brentford Drifters with 30 pts, (3rd) Richmond Antlers (24 pts); (4th) Hampstead Spikers (22 pts); and teams regulated to the Division Two Championship Play off’s are (5th) Teddington Tide End (20 pts); Whitton Warriors (17 pts); Twickenham Titanics (9 pts). Mixed Division 2 (Monday evenings - 7 teams) The league winner was Kingston Red Lions - 30 pts (9 wins and 3 defeats defeats), followed by Kingston Red Lions – 28 pts and Richmond College with 24 pts and all promotion to Division 1. In (4th) Putney Heat – 22 pts; (5th) Raynes Park Rangers – 22 pts; (6th) Twickenham Iceburgs – 20 pts; (7th) RGActive – 14 pts The Mixed Championship play-offs will start on Mon 18st February and each team will play each other once to determine the top three teams who will them qualify to the ultimate Division 1, 2 and 3 Championship Finals (April) to challenge for prizes and a trophy. Women's Premier League (Tuesday evenings - 4 teams) Richmond (won 9 & lost 0) are heading the table followed closely by Pin-Lon Spikers (won 5 & lost 4), (3rd) Firebirds (won 3 and lost 5) and (4th) Teddington Tomcats (won 1 and lost 8). Men's Premier League (Tuesday evenings - 7 teams) RVB Hounslow Lightning - 49 pts (won 18 and lost 0) are heading the table not losing a game and in 2nd place RVB u15 Juniors Young Guns - 40 pts (won 15 and lost 5). The battle is for 3rd place between RVB Surrey Hawks - 18 pts (won 10 and lost 6) and RVB u16 Juniors Busters 16 pts (won 10 and lost 8). The top three teams will qualify for the Men's Division 1 Finals (March) . Teams finishing 4th to 7th will progress to the for Men's Division 2 Finals. (5th) RVB u18 Juniors Sharks (won 4 - lost 14), (6th) RVB London Panthers (won 5 and lost 13) and (7th) RVB South London Top Cats (won 2 and lost 16) to be played in March. The South London League is hosted at a central venue and has been set up in response to growing local participation amongst men, women, and young people created through the vast amount of community events driven by Richmond Volleyball.
