Brentford Drifters & Kingston Red Lions end regular season on top
15th Feb 2012The top Teams for the South London Volleyball Championship Division 1 & 2 Play-offs have now been revealed following the conclusion of regular league season matches held at Richmond College (Twickenham) on Monday evenings. The Division 1 league winner was Brentford Drifters with 30pts (9 wins and 3 defeats). In second place was Pin-Lon Spikers also with 30 pts (3rd) Twickenham Titanics (26 pts); (4th) Richmond Antlers (23 pts); and teams regulated to the Division Two Championship Play off’s are (5th) Whitton Warriors (18 pts); Hampstead Spikers (18 pts); Teddington Tide End (14 pts). In Division 2 the league winner was Kingston Red Lions - 36 pts (12 wins and no defeats), followed by Raynes Park Rangers – 22 pts and Twickenham Icebergs 26 pts with promotion to Division 1. In (4th) Richmond College – 20 pts; (5th) Kingston Knights – 19 pts; (6th) Hampton Hawks – 18 pts; (7th) Hounslow Hot Shots – 17 pts The Championship play-offs will start on Mon 20st February and each team will play each other once to determine the top three teams who will them qualify to the ultimate Division 1 and 2 Championship Finals (April) to challenge for prizes and a trophy. The league has been set up in response to growing local participation amongst women, and young people created through the vast amount of community events driven by Richmond Volleyball Club.
