Fatality & IVA win 4v4 Series but outclassed in Finals
16th August 2010
The 6th and final round of the Richmond Volleyball 4v4 Series that goes on tour was held at Richmond’s Palewell Common - one of London’s top green flag parks with over 36 teams registered (180 players). Fatality celebrated success (17 points) winning their Open Division winning all their groups matches but lost in the final against Zartosht. In the Mixed Division IVA 2 (36 points) maintained their place at the top of their division but it was Tuskers and new challengers Dot.Net reaching the final with Dot.Net coming on top.
Richmond Volleyball event organiser commented, it was great to see in our 2nd year 36 teams register (an increase of 7 teams from 2009). The concept behind the 4v4 Series is to take volleyball on tour across South West London promoting and increasing local volleyball activity for all levels of the community from novice players to Olympic hopefuls. Teams accumulate points over the 6 tournament to win ranking points. The 2010 events were held at: Old Deer park (Richmond), Sir Joseph Hood Park (Merton), Thornbury Park (Hounslow), Fairfield Ground (Kingston), Gunnersbury (Hounslow) and Palewell Common (Richmond)
Thank you to all the winners, participates and our volunteers who helped setting up the courts and taking them down. Many hands made light work! Funds raised from the event will be channeled back into developing volleyball in South West London community. Thank you again for all your support.
