Fatality and Zartosht win 4th round of 4v4 Grand Slam Series
19th July 2010
The 4th round of the Richmond Volleyball 4v4 Grand Slam tournaments was held at Fairfield Ground (Kingston) and won by Fatality (Open division) and Zartosht (mixed division).
The competition has grown again with a total of 32 teams and with two more events to go new teams are still welcome to register and challenge the top teams in either the Open Division (for the serious players) or the Mixed Divisions. Anyone can enter a team- it is open to all ages, abilities and gender.
The concept behind the 4v4 Series is to take volleyball on tour across South West London promoting and increasing local volleyball activity for all levels of the community from novice players to Olympic hopefuls. Teams accumulate points over the 6 events to win ranking points for big prizes.
We also pride ourselves giving you a format with lots of matches and with little down time. Volleyball players just want to play so we offer a minimum of 12 sets which are self-referred sending you home tired but happy! Finally thank you to all our volunteers who helped setting up the courts and taking them down. Many hands made light work!
Funds raised from the event are channeled back into developing volleyball in South West London community.
The next 4v4 Series will be on: Sun 1st Aug, Gunnersbury Park followed by the finals on Sun 15th Aug, Palewell Common (Richmond). Team entry is £20.00 per event. Registration is 9.30am. 1st matches start at 10am.
