Richmond Teams' up with Mayor of Merton

Last Saturday Richmond Volleyball continued their summer promotion across South London in Merton at the Raynes Park Festival held at Cottenham Park. Richmond Volleyball theme is to set-up several courts in the middle of the busy festival with a live band and offer supervised coaching for all the family promoted a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. It proved again that volleyball was a very hard to resist for a number of children and teamed up with the Mayor of the Merton Councillor Oonagh Moulton. The day turned out to be a great success.
The Raynes Park Festival was organised by Merton Council as part of their community celebrations in the run up to the London 2012 Olympics. The aims for Richmond is to increase awareness of volleyball in Merton Borough and to build positive relationships within the community particular with the schools commented David Rijvers, Chairman of Richmond Volleyball. We’ve have a very successful schools volleyball programme in three London boroughs (Hounslow, Kingston and Richmond) and hope to introduce a similar programme in Merton with the support from Merton Council. Richmond would like to thank the organizers of Merton Council for making it an enjoyable and successful day.
