Hounslow Girls have a ball at Conference

In its 2nd year Jenny Pacey (GB Athletics and otherwise known as Enigma in Gladiators) and Richmond Volleyball took part in the Feltham SSP Girls Sporting Conference held at Feltham Community College and ran 5 one hour volleyball coaching sessions last Tuesday in glorious sunshine as part of the Lloyds TSB National Schools Sports Week. The programme also showcased 4 other sports Vew do, Kombat, Breaker, Dance Mats and Wall Climbing.
Five Hounslow secondary Schools were involved (St Marks, Longford, Cranford, Heathland and Feltham) and a total of 120 girls from year 8 and 9 participated and all had great fun. The volleyball sessions provided practical technical skills and were given tips on basic game tactics and played 2 and 4 a side mini games.
Richmond Volleyball Schools Coordinator commented, “This initiative was a great success and to see so many young girls enjoying the game was fantastic to see. Richmond Volleyball would like to express thanks to Hounslow SSP and all their team staff, and Hounslow’s Young Sport Leaders, who helped on the day.
