All to Play for in closing stages of the South London Volleyball League
12th March 2010
As the South London (Local) Volleyball League enters the final five weeks of the season, Whitton Warriors (Richmond Centre) and Wimbledon Wildfire (Kingston centre) are already crowned centre champions, the real battle is now at the top of the tables to finish in the top three and qualify for South London Volleyball Finals.
In the top flight Richmond Division 1 – Whitton Warries (44 pts - won 14 - lost 4) are Champions. The focus has shifted on 2nd and 3rd spot contested by Teddington Tide End (36 pts - won 9 - lost 9), PVC Power (34 pts - won 9 – lost 7) and Brentford Drifters (24 pts - won 6 – lost 8). In Richmond Division 2 - Kingston Knights (41 pts - won 14 and lost 2) are still on top of the table followed closely by Hounslow Hawks (38
pts - won 11 – won 5), and Twickenham Titanics (34pts - won 9 – lost 7). With the top five teams all still to play two games the final three places is still very much open to change.
In the top flight Kingston Division 1 - Wimbledon Wildfire (36 pts) are Champions. The focus has also shifted on 2nd and 3rd place between Teddington Thunder (30 pts), Hampstead Spikers (28 pts). In the Kingston Division 2 – 4 teams are chasing for the top three places, Twickenham Icebergs (26 pts); Richmond Antlers (22 pts); Pin-Lon Spikers (22 pts); and Kingston Red Lions (22 pts). With all teams still to play four games there is no guarantee on the finishing position of these teams.
The South London Volleyball League is London's fastest growing league organised by Richmond Volleyball hosting 280 mixed adult players and 60 junior boys and girls players based at two central venues (Richmond @ Richmond College and Kingston @ Tiffin Boys Sport Centre).
