Richmond hold their nerve and win 3-2.

Richmond Volleyball men secured a valuable and timely 3-2 victory over London Lynx in a pulsating away match taking Richmond 5th in the national league table and further secure their promotion to Division One for next season.
Richmond went down in the 1st set and battled back to gain the advantage 2-1. In the fourth set Richmond had the initiative to take the set and match but choked when they had they had the advantage 22-20 points. Five hitting errors cost the set. In the 5th set Lynx had the early upper hand (8-6) and again at (14-10) with one point to win the game. Richmond’s determination was not to give up and with 3 kills blocks and great defence the scores were leveled at 14-14. The atmosphere was very tense and Richmond continued the pressure on their side-out game and closed the game 15-17.
Richmond coach commented: I’m delighted with our attacking and defense play, focus and positive energy. This was the first time for some while Richmond showed their true potential and grittiness to fight till the end. Lynx played their part in a great game and the crowd fully appreciated the excitement and tension. Prior to Sunday Richmond had been without a victory in all competitions for four matches, but this win pushes Richmond 5th and need one more win from 4 games to qualify for Division 1 next season. Richmond's four remaining matches are against: Sheffield (away-Sun 21st Feb); Loughborough (away-Sat 20th March); SGTV Solent (home-Sat 27th March); and London Knights (away-Sat 10th April).
