Just 4 Women Summer Festivals

Richmond Volleyball (club mark 2 club & UK Sports Club of the Year 2009) successfully hosted 4 weeks of free volleyball sessions, which also included an all inclusive session, attracting over 40 female players under the ‘Just 4 Women’ programme sponsored by Play Sport London in association with Pro-Active South London.
The sessions involved 90 minutes of coaching followed by a 60 minute tournament. All the participants enjoyed the sessions delivered by 2 coaches. The aim is to encourage more women to take up sport and join the club in its varies activities such as Sunday’s open sessions at Whitton School (Twickenham), new entrants to the 2009/10 South London Volleyball League and advance players to join Richmond’stwo regional women’s teams.
Richmond Events Coordinator was delighted with feedback attracting 10 complete beginners all keen to come back and play more. Richmond Volleyball Club would like to extend their warm thanks to Pro-Active South London, Richmond club volunteers and Richmond College who supported the event and made it an enjoyable success.
