Richmond scoops 'Club of the Year’ hat-trick

Richmond Volleyball (an accredited clubmark two club) was recognised as the top volleyball club in the country and in so doing made club and volleyball history at Volleyball England Annual Awards Dinner last Saturday night in conjunction with the Whitefield International Volleyball Tournament in Bath.
For the 1st time they were awarded 1st Prize in 'Club of Year' category, narrowly nudging out Newcastle Staffs and Newbury VC adding to club’s 2009 accolades of being London’s Pro-Active Club of the Year and CCPR Sports Club of the Year. Richmond also achieved 1st prize in the 'Volleyball England Club Promotional Awards'.
Richmond Volleyball Club Chairman David Rijvers said: " it has been an amazing year for the club
and have created a unique place in club and volleyball history achieving 'Club of Year' hat-trick. The awards received this year is a tribute to the hard work and great consistency to all club members, partners and supporters who share the vision and passion to develop Richmond Volleyball in the community making it accessible, inclusive and enjoyable for all.
Richmond Volleyball Club Secretary Vera Kenyon commented: “We are delighted with the awards and would like to thank Volleyball England for recognition of our efforts to involve a wider community into the sport and regular physical activity. All our plans became a reality as a result of tremendous dedication from the club volunteers. We would like to thank them all for being the heart and soul of Richmond Volleyball. It is their passion for volleyball and generous sharing of their time, knowledge and skills that has made Richmond Volleyball a true club for all”.
