Summer League takes off in 1st week
3rd June 2009
Andy Sutch (Director of Sport Richmond) and Lisa Wainwright (CEO Volleyball England) attended the opening of Richmond Volleyball 4th Summer League campaign in glorious sunshine at Old Deer Park and watched the 40 mixed registered entrants on 6 courts (an increase of 100% from last season) compete for 1st week of points and commented, “The concept of this league is fantastic – it encourages positive and fun participation and also performance in one package for all ages and standards”.
The 4v4 mixed league sets-up between 6-8 volleyball courts on the evening offering two mixed matches based on 3x3 or 4x4 allowing the chance for players to sharpen their own skills and preparing them for varies regional and national summer grass court tournaments.
To enter you just need to turn up (no need to enter a team) every Tuesday evening at Old Deer Park (Richmond) and let the organisers create your team of 3-4 players. League points are awarded on individual basis (not per team). You can join at any point but the earlier you do, the better chance for a top spot. The cost for 9 weeks is £15.00 (adults) and £10.00 (juniors).
