Richmond triumphant over Tendring

After a tight 3-2 away win encounter in Tendring, Richmond men moved four points clear at the top of the National League Division 3 Eastern Conference. With four games left to play they now need to win the next two to secure automatic promotion to National League Division 2.
Although Richmond’s performance was disappointing in terms of their defence and passing game the middle hitters and blockers did just enough to secure the match. The game was delicately balanced for long periods and credit has to be given to Tendring who played a fantastic defence game and frustrated Richmond’s power hits.
Richmond coach commented; I’m delighted with the triumph but we have gaps in game and will be working hard in training before our next match. Richmond now travel next weekend to Sheffield for the Semi-finals of National Shield and face a top division 1 team.
