Waldegrave Girls and HCC topped Richmond Schools Cluster A Finals

Congratulations went to Waldegrave Girls and Hampton Community College (HCC) who topped the Richmond Secondary Schools (year 10 and 11) Boys and Girls Cluster A Volleyball Festival Finals.
The event was held at St Mary's University College in association with Richmond Schools partnership (Competitive Edge) and Richmond Volleyball. The boys group featured; Whitton, Orleans Park, Hampton Boys, HCC A and HCC B, and in the girls group; Orleans Park, Whitton, Waldegrave A and Waldegrave B.
The girls event was a close battle between Waldegrave A and Waldegrave B. Both teams won two games and in their final match against each other it was Waldegrave A who can on top by 7 points. In the boys group HCC A and HCC B were fighting it out for top stop. Both teams won three games and in their final match against each other it was HCC B who can on top by winning the match 2-1.
Richmond Junior Coordinator commented, the event was a great success with increased
competition and performance running for the first time single gender competitions.
The festival involved more than 70 young people and welcomed new comers Hampton Boys to the volleyball partnership. All the teams will compete again in the Richmond Borough Championship finals held at Hampton Boys on Friday 5th December were they will also meet the group B
contenders (Grey Court, Christ, Teddington, and Shene). The Group B festival will be held on Friday 21st November 2008.

(1st) Hampton CC B;
(2nd) Hampton CC A;
(3rd) Hampton Boys;
(4th) Whitton;
(5th) Orleans Park.
Cluster A Girls - final positions
(1st) Waldegrave A;
(2nd) Waldegrave B;
(3rd) Orleans Park;
(4th) Whitton.
