Coombe Girls and Richard Challoner topped Kingston Schools Cluster A Finals

Coombe Girls and Richard Challonor were celebrating success yesterday after winning their respective Kingston Secondary Schools (year 10 and 11) Boys and Girls Cluster A Volleyball Festival Finals. The girls’ festival was held at Holy Cross School featuring Coombe A, Coombe B, Holy Cross A and Holy Cross B and the boys’ at Richard Challoner School featuring Southborough, Hollyfield and Richard Challoner.
In the girls group it was a very close battle between Coombe B and Holy Cross B. Both teams won two games and lost one but it was Coombe B that had 5 points better difference coming on top. For 3rd and 4th Holy Cross A and Coombe A won 1 match each and lost 2 but it was Coombe A again with a better points difference coming in 3rd place. In the boys group Richard Challonor ran away as worthy winners winning their games 2-1 and 2-0. Southborough finished 2nd taking a set off Richard Challoner and winning 2-0 against Hollyfield.
Richmond Volleyball will now focus on Kingston Cluster B Schools (Boys: Chessington CC and Coombe Boys and Girls; Chessington CC, Tiffin Girls, and Tolworth Girls) preparing the schools for their Group B festival finals on Tuesday 18th November 2008. Tuesday 2nd December will see all the schools come together for the 1st Kingston (yr 10 & 11) Borough Volleyball Championship Finals. The two top boys and girls Kingston Schools will then
go on and challenge the top two schools from Richmond in the 1st Inter-Borough Schools Volleyball Championships Finals held on Tuesday 9th December.

(3rd) Hollyfield.

(1st) Coombe Girls B;
(2nd) Holy Cross B;
(3rd) Coombe Girls B;
