Richmond Volleyball 'RISE' to the
occasion

Last Saturday Richmond Volleyball ran a free sitting volleyball session as part of the Richmond Inclusive Sports and Exercise (RISE) programme held at Hampton Community Sports Centre.
The programme showcased several disabled sports and dance available in the borough.
A total of 12 able-bodied and disabled players participated of which 3 were able-bodies and all had great fun. The session provided structured skills coaching, game development and a mini tournament.
The Club Secretary said: “This was a fantastic initiative and many of the people who participated were new to the sport. Developing partnerships with RISE play a big part in the development of sitting volleyball creating excitement and awareness in the borough. She continued by saying, We want people to know that sitting volleyball is a fully integrated sport played literally sitting on the ground with no requirement for special equipment.
