Richmond’s successful secondary schools partnership continues to expand
2nd September 2008
Richmond Volleyball (an accredited volleyball club) is entering its fourth year with Richmond Schools Sports partnership (Competitive Edge) and is also strengthening its links with Kingston Schools Sports partnership establishing a joint partnership between the two boroughs.
This means volleyball participation has increased in these boroughs, creating more competition and enhancing performance. We are also now able to run single gender
competitions (not just mixed), and are hoping to establish the first Inter-borough secondary school volleyball tournaments.
The 'Competitive Edge' programme this year will see Richmond focusing on developing Year 10 & 11 in the winter term and year 7-9 in the Spring. It will be run across 9 schools in Richmond and 9 schools in Kingston. Each school will receive 4 weeks of coaching from Richmond Volleyball coaches and compete in two cluster finals and then a borough final. The top two teams from the respective borough finals will then compete in the inter-borough finals.
