Richmond Volleyball International Festival - Game on!

More than 120 people of more than 20 nationalities from all over the world came to Imber Court Sports Club (near Hampton Court Palace) last bank holiday weekend and contributed to the success of the 1st Richmond Volleyball International Festival.
The 3 day volleyball marathon was endorsed by Volleyball England (national governing body) as the London region event for the 2008 Regional Grass Series and the all important support came from Awards for All grant which helped with necessary equipment and marketing. The tournament embraced some very competitive matches and
a truly friendly festive atmosphere. All participants recognized the potential for this festival to be one of the major national summer grass volleyball tournaments.
The tournament director commented, “We are ecstatic to see the first festival come into fruition with so many teams expressing their hopes and enthusiasm for this event to grow. The organizers received many positive comments on the venue, camping, catering, evening entertainment, competition format, atmosphere and even the weather!”
Richmond Volleyball would like to thank everyone for making the festival a great success and in particular club volunteers. We look forward to welcoming back all participants and see many new team entries
for 2009 August bank holiday weekend for what is going to be a regular feature in the national summer volleyball tournaments calendar.
