Hounslow festival
18th July 2008
Three Hounslow secondary schools (Feltham CC, St Mark's, and Cranford) battled it out last Tuesday at Feltham CC in the first u13 borough volleyball festival final. It was Cranford A who can out on top winning four of their five matches, followed closely by Feltham B in 2nd and Cranford B coming 3rd.
All the schools (including Longford but could not compete on the day) received three weeks of coaching from Richmond’s coaches (a clubmark club) preparing then for the festival final. On the day the six teams played each other once over two sets and produced some thrilling three touch matches.
The event was organised by Richmond Volleyball as part of Hounslow’s Schools Sport Partnership programme. Richmond Volleyball Schools Coordinator wished congratulations to all the teams for producing an exciting borough festival and would like to thank everyone who put so much effort into making the competition a success.
Hounslow PDM commented – we are delighted with Richmond Volleyball on how well
they delivered the coaching sessions and the festival. All the young people
involved were engaged and participated with great enthusiasm and look forward to building on the success of this programme in the new academic year”.
