Thrilling u13 Kingston Girls Borough Finals
10th July 2008
Three Kingston Girls schools (Tolworth, Tiffin, and Coombe) competed in the first u13 borough schools volleyball championships at Coombe girls school last Tuesday.
The event involved 6 teams ( 2 per school) and produced some thrilling matches but it was Coombe Girls A who can out on top winning all of their five matches and well deserving the title of Kingston girls schools borough champions. Tiffin Girls A followed closely in 2nd place, with Coombe B coming 3rd. Tolworth girls achieved 5th and 6th respectively, but all credit is due to their enthusiasm and commitment as they were competing against an older age group.
The event was organised by Richmond Volleyball as part of Kingston Schools Sport partnership programme. Richmond Volleyball Schools Coordinator wished congratulations to all the teams for producing an exciting borough final and would like to thank everyone who put so much effort into making the competition a success. He added “We’re delighted to be involved in giving young people the opportunity to develop their volleyball talents in this dynamic and exciting Olympic sport; and we look forward to building on the success of this programme in the new academic year”.
