Announcing the South London Volleyball League
2nd June 2008
Richmond Volleyball is launching for the first time the South London Volleyball League starting in October 2008. The league is open to several categories of players and teams offering fantastic value and a great social atmosphere.
The local league will comprise of 14 teams, 2 divisions with all matches being played at Richmond College from 7pm-10pm on Monday evenings on 2 courts. The format will be based on a round robin with all matches finished by April 2009.
The league will be led by local volunteers and be assisted by all the local league clubs involved. Team places are available from today at a price of £90.00 (£15.00 per person) and then a further £190.00 (£30.00 per person) at the start of the season. On average the cost per match per person for the season will be £2.60, covering all court hire and administration costs.
Due to the much interest created by Richmond Volleyball promoting and developing community volleyball (Richmond & Kingston Secondary Schools Competitive Edge Festivals, Summer of Sport, Summer League, Corporate Challenge and 14 club teams),
we are delighted to launch the league offering further opportunities for local people to play volleyball. It will also create stronger local community cohesion and provide additional pathways for people to progress to higher levels of play into Richmond Volleyball regional and national league teams.
If you wish to register a team you will need to request for a league entry form - please contact us on
