Richard Challoner strong contender for u13 borough finals
22nd May 2008
Richard Challoner School hosted the first u13 Kingston Schools Boys Volleyball cluster finals and set the standards winning all their five matches last Tuesday.
The event involved 36 youngsters (6 teams) from three schools (Chessington CC, Southborough and Richard Challoner). All three schools received three weeks of coaching from Richmond Volleyball (a clubmark club) preparing them for the competition. On the day each team played each other once over three sets – a total of 15 matches. All the teams will now be seeded for the u13 Kingston Schools Boys Volleyball Championship Finals to be held on 1st July.
Richmond Volleyball is delighted on how well volleyball has been received in the schools. Schools brought full squads and coaching sessions were well attended. It’s such a positive step for Richmond Volleyball to be linked to Kingston Schools developing a dynamic and exciting Olympic sport in the community.
Richmond Volleyball would like to express thanks to all the schools, coaches and Richard Challoner school sport leaders (Year 9 and 10) who helped on the day making the event a great success.
