Richmond receives rave reviews at Volleyball
England Awards Ceremony
19th May 2008
Richmond Volleyball was recognised as one of the top volleyball clubs in the country by Volleyball England at their Annual Awards Dinner in Kettering (Northants) on Saturday night.
They were awarded 1st prize in the 'Club Promotional Awards' and came runner up in the 'Club of Year' category, narrowly losing out to Newcastle Staffs (winner). This year proved that standards are high amongst England’s leading Volleyball Clubs, with Newbury (last year’s winners) and Birmingham
University (awarded 2nd prize at the CCPR Sports Club of the Year awards) also achieving runner-up prizes for club of the year.
David Rijvers (Richmond Volleyball Chairman) would like to send a special thanks
to all the people who have helped Richmond Volleyball become firmly established
in the local community. The club has made significant progress over the last 12
months and now offers many high quality opportunities for people to play
volleyball. Richmond Volleyball is particularly proud that its efforts have been
recognised at the highest level. Well done Richmond – truly deserved!
