Zectors crowned Corporate Challenge champions

Zectors (SkillsTrain UK) were celebrating success on Saturday evening after winning the Richmond Volleyball Corporate Challenge. The tournament was held over one day with 10 corporate teams (80 people) ranging from complete beginners to experienced players competing for the top three
placings with a total voucher value of £2k sponsored by Champneys Health Spa.
Teams were divided into two groups of five – each played each other once and the top four teams progressed to the semi-finals. In group A Zectors (SkillsTrain) and Revenue and Customs A advanced to the semi-finals
winning eight points each over KPMG, BP (Best performance) and BP (Green Power). In group B Revenue and Customs B can on top with 12 points and UBS 2nd
with 9 points against Team Camelot, BP (Spikers International) and Yellow Dynamics.
Although the semi-finals was predictable with Zectors (SkillsTrain) beating UBS 2-0 and Revenue and Customs A winning against Revenue and Customs 2nd team (2-0), the finals was be a close encounter and nearly caused an upset. On the day it was Zectors (SkillsTrain) who were worthy winners overcoming a difficult 1st set.
The 3rd and 4th play-off match was won by UBS (2-0) reserving their defeat in
their earlier group match against Revenue and Customs B.
