PVC crushed by leaders Richmond

Richmond Men’s 1st team won a stunning 3-0 victory over Putney men, automatically securing promotion to London Division 1 and maintaining their 100% win record.
Right from the start, Richmond’s starting VI was up for the battle and successfully led from the front all the way. Throughout the match their solid defence was never seriously challenged with C.Lopez & M.Ghelfi leading strong defensive blocking. Returning from injury, M.Pinkowski’s powerful hits were too much for PVC and steady passing from E.Penglis and J.Gentner’ provided C.Lopez & M.Ghelfi with the opportunity to run many quick middle attacks. G.Scatigna-Gianfagna added extra power on the net with consistent hitting and blocking.
Richmond’s coach commented; “Although we dominated the match, we have much room for improvement if we are to meet the challenges of division 1. In the 2nd set showed that if we lose concentration we can quickly fall behind, we allowed PVC take 6 points in a row before we came back to steal the set ”.
