22nd March 2008
Richmond Men's 1st team travelled away last Wednesday to White City in a London League fixture and brushed aside Tunnel Diggers to move six points clear of British Airways at the top of the League.
Richmond confidently took an early lead and started speeding the game up earning many points. After the first round of services Richmond was with a 15-8 point advantage. The diggers did not recover and found no way through Richmond’s strong block. It was Richmond’s game in hand over BA and they did not waste it.
Richmond’s coach D.Rijvers said, “ the team could have lost focus when taking a big early advantage however with some straight talking about individual performance between the sets, Richmond looked like their normal self and sealed the victory in just 45 minutes. Promotion is in sight needing 1 win from their next 3 matches.
