Richmond Volleyball Sport Relief Tournament
18th March 2008
Richmond Volleyball Club would like to thank everyone for making the Richmond Volleyball Sport Relief Tournament an enjoyable success! It was great to see club members, their partners and children turning out to support the event, and special thanks go to Wapping Wildcats who supported the event by bringing a team down all the way from north London.
Altogether 25 players braved the weather to participate in the fun day out, even Stan the Stag made a brief appearance to rally the players. To round up the day Wapping Wildcats challenged Richmond to a friendly match. It may have been Richmond that won the final match, but it was actually Wapping Wildcats player, Paulo Notaro, who won the day by winning a total of 10 individual sets (each player was awarded a point for each set they played in that was won).
Altogether the event raised a total of £100.00 towards Sport Relief, which will aid vulnerable people leading tough lives in the UK and abroad.
