16th March 2008
Richmond Volleyball's 1st Women's team hosted the London League match vs Metropolitan Police.
Richmond confidently took an early lead and started speeding the game up and earning points.
After the first round of services Richmond was on the final straight with a 9 points advantage.
The victory was within their grasp when Mets showed character and determination.
Courageous defence and good team work was on display on the visitor's court, while Richmond
lost concentration and was making one unforced error after another. Mets almost levelled the score at
21:22 when Richmond regained the service and finished the set 25:21.
“This was the lesson that should never require revision”, Richmond’s coach Vera Kenyon said, “ Even the
biggest advantage is just a better chance of winning. You have to work hard untill the final whistle.”

their normal self and sealed the victory in just half an hour – 25:10, 25:7.
