Having Fun at Fern Hill Primary!
24th February 2008
Richmond Volleyball successfully delivered four weeks of 8 one hour mini-volleyball sessions at Fern Hill Primary School as part of their PE curricular programme.
Fern Hill teachers commented ‘It was a great success. It was good to see 60 students from year 4 (8-9 years old) really enjoying the coaching sessions and the mini tournament. It was encouraging to see the children improve their teamwork, communication and volleyball skills throughout the weeks”.
For many of the young students this programme was their first introduction to volleyball and we were very impressed with Richmond's quality instructions. We hope to run a similar mini volleyball programmes for other year groups
in the near future. It would also be great to have other primary schools involved and have a primary school festival tournament in the borough!
Richmond Volleyball looks forward to building stronger school-club links to give young people the opportunity to continue playing volleyball.
We are keen to work with more primary schools demonstrating how much fun kids have playing volleyball. Get involved by contacting us today.
To get involved Richmond Volleyball has an open adult volleyball session in Whitton Sports & Fitness Centre on Sunday’s from 4.30-6pm (junior / beginner’s) and from 6-8pm (intermediate and advance level)
You can also get involved at our Saturday Morning Junior Volleyball Club held at Waldegrave School from 9.00 to 10.00 (8 to 11 years old) and 10.00 to 11.00 am (11 to 15 years old).
