Richmond Women dampen Lions roar
19th February 2008
It was another job well done for the Richmond Volleyball Senior Women’s 1st Team who continue to score winning points in their bid to improve London League standing. Last Thursday's away fixture against Lionhearts, currently occupying the top place, was a good test of skills and character. “You were a better team and deserved to win”, admitted the Lionheart’s coach.
It was a close 5 sets clash culminating in 15:9 victory for the Richmond side. Consistent and accurate passing by L.Ploscicova and D Zimmerman, strong serving by H.Mangan and J.de Paula together with stable delivery from the setter D.Lane and sharp attacks by N.Al-Shahumi, were the major factors that secured a win.
“The League table looks very different now and we still have a few more games ahead. From now on - every point counts”, commented V.Kenyon, Richmond’s coach.
