Launching Sitting Volleyball as a new sport
8th February 2008
Eight of the British Paralympics volleyball team will give a demonstration of their sport at Richmond Volleyball (a Volley accredited club) next month.
The event held at Hampton Sports Centre on Sunday, March 30th from 3-6pm is completely free and is aimed at recruiting more people to sitting volleyball.
Sitting Volleyball is a great integrative variation of standing volleyball, with able-bodied and disabled players being able to play together. It is a fast and exciting game to play and to watch. The adaptation is considered more intense and quicker than its standing format. Able-bodied participants have no advantage over disabled, making the game very suitable for integrating able bodied and disabled players.
