Too much power for Richmond College

In a rather one-sided match Richmond Men’s 1st entertained Richmond College at Kingston Arena in a London League fixture and continued their 100% win record.
In the first set, Richmond got off to a fast start attacking with authority and taking an early (13 – 3) lead. A stuff block by middle player Walid Odah, coupled with aggressive hitting from Justus Gentner inspired Richmond to close the set 25-8.
In the 2nd set Richmond College struggled to pass with aggressive serving from Tomas Stepien
and steady defensive play from Michael Ghelfi enabling Richmond to take another strong lead (19-5) and closed the set at 25-8.
In the 3rd Richmond College with their power hitter Samuel Phillips (u18 England South) were determined to push Richmond and managed to score into double figures 25-14.
Richmond's coach was pleased with the attitude and performance of the team. This was the first time both sides meet in a competitive match with several of Richmond College players playing for u18 Richmond Junior team.
