Richmond Men’s 1st team grouped British Airway’s with a 3-0 win at Cranford in a London League fixture keeping their 100% record alive.
By strange coincidence Richmond won all three sets by the same score 25-22. A stuff block by Carlos Lopez coupled with Mirek Prakowski’s aggressive hitting clinched the first set. Strong serving from Michael Ghelfi, great defensive play by Justus Gentner and superb linking up by Walid Obah and David Rijvers secured the second and the third was then a formality. Prakowski was man-of the match.
Player coach Rijvers said, This team is being rebuilt and several players are making their mark. I believe if they stay focused we will be in a good position to challenge for honours this season.
