Burlington 1st primary in Kingston
4th July 2007
Burlington Junior School was the first primary school in the Kingston Borough to have Richmond Volleyball coaches’ deliverer a new fun programme for 8-10 years olds.
During the course of one day around 40 children, some of them for the first time in their lives, had experienced this Olympic team game. Pupils from Years 5 had one hour sessions to play 2 to 4 a-side mini volleyball games, practiced some technical skills and were given tips on basic game tactics.
Richmond Volleyball Junior Development Officer commented; the introduction of volleyball in primary schools is an important step supporting secondary school volleyball programs. We are keen to work with more primary schools demonstrating how much fun kids have playing volleyball. Get involved by contacting us today.
