Twickenham Festival of Sport
10th June 2007
Last weekend at Twickenham Green was an action packed Twickenham Festival of Sport day organised by Sport Richmond.
A number of sporting clubs within Richmond & Twickenham gathered on the Twickenham Green to present their sport. Richmond Volleyball had great success engaging a number of children from as young as seven.
Richmond Volleyball sees participation in community events as an excellent way to develop local links and increase involvement in our youth and senior programs.
With help from our walking Richmond mascot (Stan the Stag) and a volleyball court in the middle of the busy festival created great excitement and fun and proved to be a hard to resist activity for a number of children and adults.
Richmond Volleyball is offering a number of events to engage the community such as Junior Volleyball Summer Camps from u8 to u14’s held at St Mary’s University College and Whitton Sports and Fitness Centre held during the school summer holidays; 9 week Summer League (adults and juniors) and 6 week Summer of Sport (free come and try sessions – open to all) which is an annual mayoral initiative that aims to increase participation in sporting activity amongst Londoners.
