u19 Women Experience Mixed Fortune in South East College Championships

U19 Richmond College Women’s team set off on Friday 19th January to Southampton in the hope of becoming South East Regional College Volleyball Champions just like the men’s team.
They started the tournament off well taking a set off the eventual winners Worthing College and they went on to win two and lose one match and finished overall 3rd in the competition. For the first time this event saw five women's teams demonstrating that that girls are definitely taking to volleyball more and more.
Carol Gordon (Head Coach for u19 Richmond) commented that this a hard working squad who must now concentrate on their remaining matches in the London League and start to build towards Ashcombe and London Youth Games Tournaments.
Richmond's Club Chairman commented that Richmond is becoming a very exciting
volleyball community. Richmond community has had a strong volleyball tradition
and is building a strong case to restore in reputation as one of major volleyball
hubs in the country.
