Richmond defeat against Cup Winners

Richmond Women 1st team travelled to Central London to play the first Premier Division match against Swiss Cottage, Last season’s Cup Winners.
It was not an easy task since Richmond is just starting to rebuild a team with plans to shift some roles within the squad and welcome new players.
After having only one training session together, Richmond did not go for an aggressive offensive play and tried to build up on their defense. It proved to be extremely difficult against quick combinations of Swiss Cottage hitters. Richmond lost 3:0.
However, blocking by Kelly Jones, sets by Vanessa Lavelle and digs by Paula Newton were real highlights of
Richmond's team performance and helped to keep positive attitude to the end of the match.

How to get involved in Volleyball
Richmond organises an open volleyball session at Whitton School Sports Centre (Percy Road Twickenham Middlesex TW2 6JW) on Sunday’s from 18.00 to 20.00, with beginners welcome to try out the sport.
