We’re excited to be launching a new Beach Volleyball programme aimed at boys and girls aged 5-10 this April at the Beach Courts at Teddington Sports Centre.
This is a great opportunity for young children to get a first introduction to the exciting sport of volleyball. With fun drills and games the children will learn the fundamentals of beach volleyball as well as general coordination skills and movement on the sand.
Days/Times:
Free Taster Event: Saturday 6th April at 3-5pm
Weekly training sessions on Wednesdays 4-5 pm (from 17th April)
Weekly training sessions on Saturdays 8:30 – 9:30 am (from 20th April)
As an extra incentive, we are able to offer these training sessions for free – all we ask you is to pay the £15 annual Junior Membership fees (not required for the taster event).
Spaces are limited and all sessions require prior registration via our website.
Congratulations to Team Bello after winning a truly historic bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Javier and Joaquin did England proud and won the country’s first ever senior volleyball medal at an international multi-sports event.
They were watched court side by mum Barbara and brother Quique while dad and coach Luis watched backstage.
An amazing achievement for the team after many years of hard work and dedication.
Everyone at Richmond Volleyball are very proud of what they’ve achieved and look forward to watching their international careers blossom in the years ahead.
We have two adult beginners sessions starting again soon:
Saturdays 9am-10:30am Mixed Beginners/Improvers open session: Ideal for players who can only come occasionally and are looking for a basic introduction to beach volleyball along with some fun games (probably 3 or 4 a-side depending on numbers). This session will be bookable through team app from one week in advance (pay per session).
Wednesdays 6:30pm-8:30pm Mixed Beginners/Improvers training: Ideal for a more in depth introduction/refresher to beach volleyball, where you can progress as a group focusing on different aspects of the game every week. Bookable in blocks of 7 sessions (first block 6 sessions):
The summer might be over, but we’re pleased to announce that registration to our popular series of winter beach tournaments is now open.
Taking place once a month between October and March, these tournaments are aimed at all levels and are fast paced – with maximum of 8 teams on 3 courts, this means you get lots of games with minimum amount of breaks. The format is 2v2 and there are mixed and single-gender events.
There are medals to be won for each event and prizes for the overall series winners.
In the last two years the series was unfortunately cut short due to the national lockdowns, but hopefully this year we can complete the series.
While it’s been a much shorter summer series this year, the 3 tournaments were full of thrilling games and top-quality plays. Thank you to all the players who took part in the tournaments and helped bring back the fun at the beach courts in Teddington.
